The VATSIM Board of Governors is pleased to announce that Rob Shearman has been selected as the new Vice President – Pilot Training.

Rob has been a dedicated member of the VATSIM community for years, bringing both passion and extensive experience to his new role. He has been a strong advocate for enhancing pilot training resources on the network and is known for his commitment to improving the experience for VATSIM pilots worldwide.

Upon accepting the role, Rob shared:

“I’m pleased and honored to accept the position of Vice President, Pilot Training for the VATSIM network. Many of you know that I’ve been passionately advocating for pilot training resources on VATSIM for a number of years now, and I have some great ideas for modernizing both the curriculum and the delivery of such resources. My first monumental task, though, will be soliciting input and achieving consensus on those ideas. Above all, I want the VATSIM Pilot Training Department to be truly reflective of the rich global community that it serves. I’m excited for the challenge ahead.”

Please join us in welcoming Rob to his new role!
